FAMILY LAW:

Family law encompasses a broad range of issues and may be heard in a number of courts all at the same time. Issues concerning children are at the helm of family law cases, such as child support, child custody, child visitation, paternity, name change, guardian, abuse/neglect and juvenile delinquency. These cases are typically addressed in Family Court but may also be heard in Supreme Court, Criminal or IDV Court and Civil Court. We handle family law related cases with the utmost compassion, understanding and patience. With extensive training and certification as a Law Guardian, we have a more comprehensive and insightful understanding of family law issues and give each case the time and attention it deserves.

MATRIMONIAL:

Divorce or legal separation encompasses a broad range of issues that overlap with other areas of law, including criminal law. Divorces - uncontested or contested, legal separation or property distribution agreements - prenuptial or ante-nuptial, require knowledge of the constant changing rules and laws that affect dissolution of marriage, as well as knowledge of the impact dissolution has on the family. Alternatives to traditional divorce, divorce mediation or collaborative divorce are usually more time and cost efficient, while focusing on the impact of divorce as a whole. We also prepare domestic partnership agreements, and all collateral issues related to such agreements, for same-sex and cohabitating couples. We are diligent, effective and knowledgeable about the wide range of issues that arise in matrimonial cases and can represent you on most of the interrelated areas of law.

CRIMINAL LAW:

Criminal law cases can affect one of our most fundamental rights, the right to liberty. Criminal cases can be the most life altering events in one's life, affecting not only liberty or freedom but the right to pursue happiness as well. Although felonies usually have the most serious impact, misdemeanors and traffic violations can also be quite burdensome. We take every case seriously, keeping our focus and attention on the things that matter most to you as the client. Further, because of our experience in other related areas of law, we are particularly knowledgeable about the nuances of overlapping cases.
